Qualifiers - Group F: UAE seal Finals spot

Bishkek: United Arab Emirates booked their spot in the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Finals after defeating Kyrgyz Republic 2-1in Group F of the Qualifiers at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium on Friday.

UAE, who lead Group F with six points, are assured of finishing top on the head-to-head rule after having beaten both Iraq and Kyrgyz Republic, who are both on three points.

Iraq, beaten 1-0 by UAE on Matchday One, produced a strong second half performance to defeat Lebanon in the group's other match on Friday.

2020 Qualifiers - Sept 20: Results & Reports

Kuala Lumpur: DPR Korea have joined United Arab Emirates in the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Finals after winning Group I on Saturday.

DPR Korea defeated Hong Kong 4-0 to end their qualifying campaign with a perfect record of three wins at Singapore's Jalan Besar Stadium.

The remaining cast will be decided on Sunday with all the groups wide open. 16 teams will see action in the Finals, with the hosts gaining an automatic berth.

Yangon: It will be a winner takes all clash between Thailand and Korea Republic on Sunday after both recorded their second wins in Group K of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers on Friday. 

Thailand cruised to a 6-0 win over Chinese Taipei while Korea Republic had to see off a spirited challenge from hosts Myanmar to win 1-0 Thuwanna Stadium.

Hanoi: Australia and Vietnam will face off to decide the Group H winners of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers after both recorded their third straight wins on Friday.

Vientiane: Japan defeated Cambodia 8-0, while Laos edged Malaysia 1-0 in Group J of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers at the New Laos National Stadium on Friday.

The win gave defending champions Japan their second consecutive victory in the Qualifiers, following their 4-0 triumph over Laos on Matchday One.

Malaysia, who defeated Cambodia 7-0 in their opener, will now have to defeat Japan if they are to stand a chance of making the Finals.

Jakarta: China PR and Indonesia collected three more valuable points in Group G of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers, after beating Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) and Brunei Darussalam respectively on Friday.

Indonesia turned on the power in the second half to beat Brunei 8-0, while China were unstoppable as they found the back of the net 15 times against NMI to top the group with nine points on goal difference.

The two will face off in the final Group G tie on Sunday for the automatic ticket to the Finals.

Singapore: Hong Kong defeated Guam 4-1 while DPR Korea cruised to a 6-1 win against Singapore as the two teams recorded their second straight triumphs in Group I of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Thursday.

The wins set up an enticing Matchday 3 clash between Hong Kong, who defeated Singapore 2-1 on Matchday One, and DPR Korea, who downed Guam 16-1 in their opener, on Saturday.

Yangon: Lee Kyu-dong scored a hat-trick to steer Korea Republic to an emphatic 10-0 win over Chinese Taipei, while Niphitphon Wongpanya's brace powered Thailand to a 4-0 win over Myanmar in Group K of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers at the Thuwanna Stadium on Wednesday.

Chinese Taipei simply had no answer for the East Asians as Korea Republic led 3-0 at the break before turning on the power in the second half for an emphatic start to their qualifying campaign.

Thailand were too strong for Myanmar as the young War Elephants raced to a 3-0 lead by half-time before finishing the job.
