Qualifiers - Group I: DPR Korea clinch Finals berth, Singapore tame Guam
Singapore: DPR Korea booked their spot in the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Finals after cruising to a 4-0 win over Hong Kong, while Singapore defeated Guam 10-1 in Group I of the Qualifiers at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday.
The win gave DPR Korea maximum points from three matches with the East Asians scoring an impressive 26 goals and conceding only once.
Singapore ended their Qualifying campaign on a positive note after defeating Guam in a goal fest at the Jalan Besar Stadium. The young Lions raced to a 6-1 lead at half-time, before scoring four more after the break to register their first victory.
Qualifiers - Group A: Kuwait hold Jordan, Tajikistan sizzle
Zarqa City: Kuwait bounced back from their heavy defeat on Matchday Three to hold Jordan to a 1-1 draw, while Tajikistan strolled to a 7-0 victory over Nepal in Group A of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers at the Prince Mohammad International Stadium on Friday.
Jordan were the raging favourites, having beaten Nepal and Sri Lanka by 7-0 margins, while Kuwait came into the match having suffered a 9-0 defeat to 2018 runners-up Tajikistan on Wednesday.
Tajikistan, meanwhile, showed their goal scoring prowess again on Friday and the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship runners-up only have to avoid defeat against Jordan on Sunday to qualify for the 2020 Finals.
Qualifiers - Group E: Bangladesh bounce back, Yemen hold Qatar
Doha: Bangladesh surged back into contention for a place in the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Finals after beating Bhutan 3-0, while Qatar and Yemen played to a 1-1 draw in Group E of the Qualifiers at the Aspire Dome Indoor Stadium on Friday.
Bangladesh, defeated 2-0 by Qatar, got they win they needed while the draw between Qatar and Yemen throws the group wide open.
It will be an exciting Matchday Three as Yemen play Bangladesh while Qatar face Bhutan on Sunday.
