Song expects more from DPR Korea

Bali: Despite DPR Korea’s second convincing Group A outcome at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024, head coach Song Sung Gwon was not overly satisfied with the way his side performed in their 6-0 win over the Philippines on Thursday.

The win sealed DPR Korea’s spot in the semi-finals with a match to spare but Song believes his team can play even better, with the victory against the Philippines following their 7-0 defeat of Korea Republic on Matchday One. The East Asian side meet hosts Indonesia in their final group match on Sunday.

Kim: Players’ desire key to big Korea Republic win

Bali: Head coach Kim Eun-jung heaped praise on her players after Korea Republic secured their first win in Group A of the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 on Thursday to reignite their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.

Eight players got on the scoresheet in a 12-0 win with captain Won Ju-eun starring with a quadruple of goals, a result which gives Korea Republic the advantage heading into their decider against Philippines on Sunday.

Kuala Lumpur: The six teams in playoffs for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round learnt their opponents following the official draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The three winners from the match-ups will join Bhutan, Maldives and Laos, who punched their tickets to the Qualifiers Final Round as the three best-ranked losing teams from the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1, alongside 18 teams (all third and fourth-placed teams from across nine groups) from Round 2.

Ales: Guinea dashed Indonesia’s hopes of appearing in the Paris Olympic Games with a 1-0 win in the AFC-CAF Playoff at the Stade Pierre Pibarot on Thursday.

Having sealed the last berth available, Guinea will face France, USA and New Zealand in Group A of Paris 2024. 
 
For Indonesia, it was a heartbreaking end to a campaign that had seen them defeat Korea Republic en route to finishing fourth in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™.

Kuala Lumpur: Japan's Yokohama F. Marinos are aiming to write a new chapter in their glorious history when they take on Al Ain FC of the United Arab Emirates in the the final of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24.

Harry Kewell’s Marinos defeated Ulsan Hyundai FC on penalties in last month's semi-final and they will now look to clear the final hurdle and lift their maiden title in what is their sixth appearance in Asia’s premier club competition.
