Preview - Group C: Korea Republic v Oman

Tashkent: Korea Republic have their eyes set on a record-extending 13th continental title at this level, according to head coach Kim Eun-jung whose side take on Oman in their first match of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Group C at JAR Stadium on Thursday.

The young Taeguk Warriors dominated the competition, winning the first two editions and going on to add 10 more titles, winning it at least once in every decade since the 1960s, but their last trophy lift dates back to 2012, and they have only reached the semi-finals once in the last three editions.

Tashkent: The AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 kicks off on Wednesday with 16 teams aiming for the title. 

The erstwhile U-19 championship, returning under its new U-20 brand, will also serve as the qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia 2023, which is scheduled to be held from May 20 to June 11.
