Qualifiers - Group A: China PR see off Myanmar, Uzbekistan too strong for Maldives

Al Khobar: China PR kicked off their bid to qualify for the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Finals with a 3-1 win over Myanmar in Group A on Saturday.

Uzbekistan, playing in the Qualifiers for exposure, defeated Maldives 7-0 in the day's earlier match.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers kicked off on Saturday with four of the 10 groups swinging into action, with several teams enjoying a head start to their campaigns.

Qualifiers - Group B: Bhutan impress against Nepal; Bangladesh hold Bahrain

Arad: Bhutan kicked off their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers campaign with a 2-0 win over Nepal at the Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad, Bahrain on Saturday.

Hosts Bahrain, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw in their Group B opener.

Vientiane: Laos cruised to a 3-0 victory over Guam while Yemen earned a hard fought 2-2 draw against Palestine in Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers on Saturday.

Laos’ win is a boost in their bid to qualify for the Finals, with only the top team from the group assured of a place in Uzbekistan 2023.

Amman: Syria defeated Chinese Taipei 1-0 while Turkmenistan breezed past Northern Mariana Islands 7-0 in Group D of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers at the Petra Stadium on Saturday.

The resounding win gives Turkmenistan an early advantage with only the top team from the group assured of a place in Uzbekistan 2023.
