Qualifiers - Group D: Kyrgyz Republic back on track, IR Iran surge to victory
Tehran: Kyrgyz Republic got their AFC U-19 Championship Uzbekistan 2020 qualification bid back on the track with a 2-0 win over United Arab Emirates, while Islamic Republic of Iran scored four late goals to beat Nepal 4-0 on Friday.
The results mean Iran will go into Sunday’s group finale in top spot, knowing a draw or better against UAE will be enough to win a group where three teams still remain in contention.
Iran have six points after two matches, while Kyrgyz Republic and UAE are on three apiece, with Nepal bottom of the table after two defeats.
Qualifiers - Group E: Bahrain stay perfect, Bangladesh hold Jordan
Manama: Bahrain stayed on top of Group E after defeating Bhutan 4-0, while Bangladesh fought back to salvage a 1-1 draw against Jordan in the AFC U-19 Championship Uzbekistan 2020 Qualifiers on Friday.
Bahrain are now a step closer to reaching the Final and will only require a draw in their next game against Jordan, while Bangladesh secured their first point in Group K to lie third in the standings. They will face Bhutan in their final group fixture on Sunday.
Qualifiers - Group F: Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan notch key wins
Al Khobar: Saudi Arabia put four past India, while Uzbekistan edged out Afghanistan as Group F’s big town continued their winning form in the AFC U-19 Championship Uzbekistan 2020 Qualifiers on Friday.
A blistering start helped Saudi Arabia to an emphatic 4-0 win over India, while Uzbekistan faced a sterner test in their 2-0 success against Afghanistan.
Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan will now meet on Sunday to decide which team will finish as group winners, while Afghanistan and India are now out of the qualification race.
Qualifiers - Group G: Cambodia edge Thailand, Malaysia stay perfect
Phnom Penh: It will be all to play for in Group G of the AFC U-19 Championship Uzbekistan 2020 Qualifiers after Cambodia edged Thailand 2-1 and Malaysia defeated Northern Mariana Islands 10-0 at the National Olympic Stadium on Friday.
Cambodia's win propelled them back into contention after having suffered a defeat on Matchday One while Malaysia recorded their third straight victory.
