Doha: Nike’s latest generation match ball - the Ordem 3 - was at the centre of the action on Tuesday when the AFC U23 Championship Qatar 2016 kicked off in Doha on with matches between Syria and IR Iran as well as the hosts Qatar and China PR.
The Ordem 3 is Nike’s latest in a long line of “high quality balls that provides accurate flight, thanks to its Nike Aerowtrac grooves”, according to the sports company.
The participating teams have been training in Doha with the official match ball ahead of the tournament. The manufacturers say that the ball’s high-performance graphic design helps players to see it faster, helping to keep Asia’s rising stars at their optimal paces, and the fuse-welded synthetic leather ‘offers prime touch and response, helping accuracy of passes’.
AFC Tournament Director Shin Man Gil said: “The Nike Ordem 3 has been very well received and we are eagerly waiting to see it in action in the opening match on Tuesday. A good match ball is essential to ensure the quality of the game is at its highest level, and I have no doubt we will see some brilliant performances here in Doha.”
