Qualifiers -Group H: Thailand edge Malaysia to finish top

Chonburi: Yotsakon Burapha’s first half strike was enough to earn Thailand a 1-0 win over Malaysia and top spot in Group H of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers at the Chonburi Stadium on Tuesday.

Thailand finished with three wins out of three while Malaysia will how hope they can advance as one of the best four second-placed teams.

Montgomery leaves Mariners

Gosford: Nick Montgomery has left A-League Grand Final winners Central Coast Mariners to take over as the new head coach of Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, the Australian club announced on Monday.

Montgomery led the Mariners to the A-League Championship as they handed A-League Premiers Melbourne City a 6-1 defeat in last season’s finale and the club will take on Terengganu, Bali United and the Stallion Laguna in Group G of the AFC Cup™ 2023/24.
