Riffa: Sardar Azmoun starred with two goals as Islamic Republic of Iran scored a vital 3-0 victory over Bahrain in Group C of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 on Monday.
The three points saw Iran leapfrog Bahrain into second place on 12 points, two behind Iraq with both sides having two matches remaining. The defeat was a blow for Bahrain, who are third with just one game remaining in the race to advance to the third round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Kuwait City: A brace from Baha Faisal helped Jordan climb to second place in Asian Qualifiers Group B with a 3-0 win against Nepal on Monday.
The Jordanian striker opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute and added a superb free-kick shortly after half-time, before Yazan Al Arab headed home a third as Vital Borkelmans’ side leapfrogged Kuwait in the race to reach the Third Round.
Nepal’s fifth defeat in seven outings means the South Asian side can no longer finish higher than fourth, bringing their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualification hopes to an end.
Asian Qualifiers - Group C: Iraq back in business as they see off Cambodia
Muharraq: Iraq marked their return to the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 with a 4-1 victory over Cambodia in Group C on Monday.
Iraq were the last team in the group to resume their campaign, with their rivals having played four days ago, and the West Asians hit the ground running as they reclaimed top spot with the win, with Islamic Republic of Iran and Bahrain to meet later on Monday.

Osaka: A first half header from Mijiddorj Oyunbaatar saw Mongolia sign off their Group F campaign with a 1-0 win over Kyrgyz Republic on Monday in the second round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup China 2023.
The result is a setback for Kyrgyz Republic who missed out on the chance to go level on points with regional rivals Tajikistan in second and saw Mongolia avenge their 2-1 defeat in the first meeting between the sides in October 2019.
