Asian Qualifiers - Group H Preview: Korea Republic, Lebanon in search of victories against Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka

Goyang: Korea Republic and Lebanon will look to consolidate their positions in Group H's top two places when they take on Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka respectively on Saturday.

The withdrawal of DPR Korea means that just four teams remain when Group H resumes in the Korea Republic city of Goyang after more than 18 months without action.

Korea Republic and Lebanon currently occupy first and second places in the standings with seven points apiece, while, a point behind on six, Turkmenistan remain in the hunt for a top-two finish. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, are still aiming to get off the mark.

Sanchez satisfied with Qatar's narrow victory over India in Asian Qualifiers

Doha: Qatar national team head coach Felix Sanchez was satisfied with his side's narrow 1-0 win against India in Group E of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 on Thursday.

Abdel Aziz Hatim scored the only goal on the night as Qatar moved to 19 points from seven matches while India remained on three points, having played six games.

Second-placed Oman are on 12 points, with two matches in hand, and Qatar will seal top spot in Group E if they avoid defeat when the two sides meet on Monday.

Manama: Head coach Hélio Sousa said the two first half goals helped Bahrain to their 8-0 win against Cambodia in Group C of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 on Thursday.
