Crucial weeks ahead as hopefuls prepare for resumption of Asian Qualifiers
Kuala Lumpur: In a year bereft of national team football, only one match of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 was played, with Qatar facing Bangladesh on December 4.
The Group E match ended 5-0 in Qatar's favour, taking the defending champions one step closer towards qualification for the AFC Asian Cup China 2023.
As hosts, Qatar are assured of their place in the FIFA World Cup 2022 but for the remaining 39 teams, there is still all to play for in the Asian Qualifiers.

Best Goal of AFC Champions League 2020: First 3 finalists determined
Kuala Lumpur: The first three finalists for the Best Goal of AFC Champions League 2020 have been decided following the conclusion of Semi-final 1 on Wednesday.
Persepolis FC's Mehdi Abdi Qara topped Semi-final 1 with a whopping 69.43 percent of the votes for his goal against Al Nassr in the semi-finals while another Iran club, Esteghlal FC will also be represented in the final with Cheick Diabate's effort against Al Ahli Saudi FC in the group stage garnering 22.15 percent of the votes.
Al Nassr's Abderrazak Hamdallah, the 2020 AFC Champions League top scorer with seven goals, also advanced to the final with his group stage goal against Sepahan FC receiving the third highest number of votes.

Abu Dhabi: Afghanistan are currently undergoing a six-day training camp in Dubai in preparation for the resumption of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023.
Head coach Anoush Dastgir called up 10 new players, who impressed in the 2020 Afghan Premier League, for the Dubai training camp with Afghanistan scheduled to play Bangladesh on March 25 before facing Oman five days later in Group E of the Asian Qualifiers.
