Saudi Arabia squad announced for China PR, Australia ties

Riyadh: Head coach Hervé Renard has named a 26-man squad for Saudi Arabia's final two AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar™ Group B matches against China PR and Australia.

The Saudis are currently leading Group B with 19 points from eight matches and victory against China PR on March 24 will confirm their place in the FIFA World Cup Finals for a sixth time.

Bento names Korea Republic squad with top spot target

Seoul: Korea Republic head coach Paulo Bento has set his sights on top spot in Group A of AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar™ after naming a 25-man squad for the upcoming qualifiers against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates on Monday.

Bento included Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Hwang Hee-chan in his line-up despite the 26-year-old sustaining a hip injury in his club side’s Premier League win over Everton on Sunday and he is confident his team can overhaul the Iranians at the top of the standings.

Dubai: The last three places at the 2022 AFC Champions League™ group stage (West) will be up for grabs as six sides contest the qualifying playoffs on Tuesday with the winners completing Groups A, D and E.

Sharjah FC will look to make it a third consecutive appearance in the competition when they face Al Zawraa SC, while Al Taawoun FC will be eager not to miss out on a place in Group D which they host as they take on Al Jaish SC while Baniyas Club and FC Nasaf battle out for a return to the group stage for the first time since 2012 and 2018 respectively.
