Colonia del Sacramento: Saturday will go a long way towards determining the destiny of Asia's two remaining contenders at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018, with Japan and DPR Korea both set for tough quarter-finals at Estadio Profesor Alberto Suppici.
Defending champions DPR Korea face a difficult tie against in-form Spain, while unbeaten Japan will meet first-time quarter-finalists New Zealand, with the two Asian sides to cross paths in Wednesday's semi-finals should they be successful.

Colonia del Sacramento: DPR Korea ensured their FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup title defence will continue into the knockout stage, advancing with a crucial 2-1 win that eliminated Cameroon on Wednesday.
The East Asians fell behind almost immediately, but goals from Ko Kyong-hui and Ri Su-jong either side of half time meant they were able to recover both from Alice Kameni's early strike and last Wednesday's shock 4-1 Matchday One defeat to Germany.
DPR Korea will now continue their quest to be the competition's first three-time winners when they face unbeaten Group C winners Spain in Saturday's opening quarter-final.

Maldonado: Japan and Mexico secured their places in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018 following a 1-1 draw in their Group B finale in Maldonado on Tuesday.
Group winners Japan, champions in 2014 and runners-up two years ago, will play the second-placed team from Group A - either Ghana or New Zealand - in Saturday's quarter-finals.
A fairly even and competitive first half saw little to separate these two sides, for the most part, in the afternoon sunshine at the Estadio Domingo Burgueno Miguel.
However, five minutes before half-time, the Little Nadeshiko took the lead through a fine finish from the edge of the box by Momoka Kinoshita. Her left-footed curler beat Mexico goalkeeper Jaidy Gutierrez to put the Japanese in front at the break.

Colonia del Sacramento: Korea Republic's FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018 campaign ended in disappointment, as they squandered a long-held lead to register a 1-1 draw against Colombia in their final Group D fixture on Wednesday.
It looked for the vast majority of the match as though Cho Mi-jin's 14th minute penalty kick would be enough to secure three points for the already-eliminated Koreans, but Gisela Robledo scored a last-gasp equaliser for the South Americans
Despite their point, Colombia were also eliminated from the competition, with Spain and Canada advancing to the quarter-final stage.

Colonia Del Sacremento: DPR Korea bounced back from a heavy opening defeat to Germany by convincingly seeing off USA 3-0 and reigniting the charge to reach the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018.
Amid an early downpour in Colonia Del Sacramento, USA initially shone through, but it was a short-lived supremacy as they were washed away as the reigning champions kicked into gear midway through the first half. The left flank was where the Koreans found most of their joy.
The first instance came when Choe Kum-Ok - a consistent thorn in the Americans' side - forced keeper Angelina Anderson into a save, with Ko Kyung-Hui unable to capitalise on the resulting loose ball.
However, they didn't make the same mistake five minutes later. Ri Kum-Hyang pounced after an almighty scramble in the USA box and the No 5 tucked away the opener.

Maldonado: A rampant Japan got their FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup campaign back on track, thrashing South Africa 6-0 at Estadio Domingo Burgueño on Friday.
Haruka Osawa and Sara Ito provided two goals apiece, while Tomoko Tanaka and Yuzuki Yamamoto also got on the scoresheet as the Little Nadeshiko returned to their devastating best to completely outclass their opponents.
With four points from their opening two matches, Japan are now a single point away from sealing a sixth consecutive appearance in the knockout stage, with their fate to be determined in Tuesday's final group stage clash against Mexico.

Montevideo: A pair of second-half strikes from Jordyn Huitema and Lara Kazandjian led Canada to a 2-0 victory over Korea Republic in Group D at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018 and sealed their qualification to the quarter-finals.
The result meant Korea Republic's hopes of advancing to the knockout stage were dashed as the East Asians had also lost their opening match to Spain.
Korea Republic started the match on top, creating the majority of the goalscoring chances. Captain Cho Mij-in came closest to breaking the deadlock when her shot from the top of the penalty area struck the crossbar.
