Sete Lagoas: Uruguay striker Diego Forlan was back in training on Thursday after a stomach bug had caused him to miss out both of the previous day's sessions AFP has reported.
Forlan, who won the Golden Ball award for the tournament's best player at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, didn't train with the squad after waking up with a 'digestive problem' but the 35-year-old Cerezo Osaka striker was seen taking part alongside his Uruguay team-mates during the 15 minutes of the training session at the Arena do Jacare training site that was open to media.
Forlan joined Cerezo back in January and scored twice in this year's AFC Champions League Group Stage to help the Osaka outfit progress to the Round of 16 where they were knocked out by defending ACL champions Guangzhou Evergrande, while the ex-Manchester United attacker has also been in fine form domestically, notching six goals in 13 J.League appearances
A fully fit Forlan will be crucial for Uruguay for with Liverpool's Luis Suarez, top scorer in last season's English Premier League, doubtful for Saturday's Group D curtain raiser against Costa Rica with the 27-year-old still recovering from keyhole surgery to a knee injury.
