Amsterdam: Australia's Group B opponents the Netherlands face an anxious wait on the extent of a groin injury that forced skipper and star striker Robin Van Persie to withdraw at half-time of the Oranje's 2-0 friendly win over Wales.
"'He has to wait until the doctor sees him," Holland manager Louis Van Gaal told reporters after the match that was settled by goals from Arjen Robben and Jeremain Lens.
"It was better than you don't risk a bigger injury by playing him in the second half as it was not the most important match."
Meanwhile, the Manchester United forward tried to play down concerns of the injury saying: I came off as a precaution. It built up during the came so decided it was sensible to come off."
The Netherlands will play Australia on June 18 at the Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre.
