Toyota: Uzbekistan finished top of the table with a 1-0 victory over AFC Asian Cup Champions Japan as the curtain came down on Group C of the Third Round of Asian Qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
Aleksandr Shadrin, appearing in the starting 11 for the first time having been on the bench for two Round Two and three Round Three matches, scored the only goal of the game ten minutes into the second-half of the fixture at Toyota Stadium.
The result saw Uzbekistan conclude their undefeated campaign at the top of the standings with 16 points, six clear of second place Japan, who like the Central Asians went into the final match having already assured themselves of a place in the Fourth Round draw, which takes place on March 9 in Kuala Lumpur.
