Amman: Jordan coach Adnan Hamad believes his side has a strong change of advancing to the fourth round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
The West Asians, who overcame all odds and fancied Saudi Arabia and Syria to make it to the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar earlier this year under Hamad, were drawn with China, Iraq and Singapore in Saturday’s draw in Rio De Janeiro.
“I think Jordan have a strong chance to reach the fourth round of the qualifiers as all the teams in the group are of the same level,” said Hamad, who took Iraq to the semi-finals of 2004 Athens Olympics.
“If we look at the four teams, we will find out that none of the teams have an edge over others. We have played with all the teams in the group and performed very well,” he said.
“We will do all our efforts to prepare the team and realise our dream to reach the FIFA World Cup finals.”
