Amman: Jordan coach Adnan Hamad believes that friendly matches against Tunisia and Indonesia will make his side ready for their 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers third round opener against Iraq.
Jordan were placed in Group A alongside China, Iraq and Singapore and will begin their campaign against the neighbours away on September 2.
Jordan national news agency ‘Petra’ quoted him as saying, “The friendly matches against Tunisia and Indonesia will make the players ready for the first match against Iraq.”
Jordan will meet Tunisia on August 22 and Indonesia five days later. Both the matches will be played in Amman.
“There are no easy matches in football but our group is more balanced compared to other groups. So I am confident that we will advance to the fourth round,” he said.
