Kuwait City: Lebanon stunned Kuwait on their own turf as Mahmoud El Ali's second-half strike gave Theo Bucker's side a 1-0 away win on Friday that put them in a strong position to claim a berth in the fourth round of Brazil 2014 qualifiers.
The Koreans all but assured themselves of progression from the third round in the earlier Group B fixture on Friday after a 2-0 win over the UAE took them to ten points, five more than Kuwait who were looking for the home win over Lebanon to bring the back to within two points of the 2011 AFC Cup semi-finalists and further ahead of the other two sides with two games left to play.
However, Lebanon had not read the script and instead overtook the Kuwaitis thanks to a 57th minute goal from Al Ahed midfielder El Ali, which took his side's tally to seven points.
