Dubai: With the final international break ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 coming to a conclusion, the six Asian teams preparing to represent the AFC have been busy shoring up their options and putting the final touches for what is set to be a historic campaign for the continent.

Group C: IR Iran cruise past Indonesia to kick off title defence in style

Kuwait City: Defending champions Islamic Republic of Iran showed they mean business with a 5-0 win over Indonesia in Group C of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 on Wednesday.

Twelve-time champions Iran cruised to a three-goal lead at half-time, leaving Indonesia with no chance of mounting a comeback.

Group C: Lebanon, Chinese Taipei share points

Kuwait City: Lebanon fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Chinese Taipei in Group C of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 on Wednesday.

Huang Wei-lun gave Chinese Taipei the lead with Lebanon equalising just before half-time through Mouhammad Hammoud's effort for a share of the  spoils at the Saad Al Abdullah Hall.

Kuwait City: Saudi Arabia pulled off a sensational upset by edging Japan 2-1 in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 Group B opener on Tuesday. 

The Saudis fought back from a goal down to take the lead in the first half and then held on strong to secure the three points.

Kuwait City:  Vietnam produced their best to defeat Korea Republic 5-1 in Group D of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 on Wednesday.

The Southeast Asian side overcame conceding early to get a headstart in the race for a place in the quarter-finals.
