Jordan go down fighting against Lithuania

Yerevan: Jordan's women national team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Lithuania in their opening match of the Armenia international friendly tournament “Our Game” at the Pyunik Stadium on Wednesday.

The Jordanians, coached by Portuguese David Nascimento, are preparing for September's Qualifiers for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022.

Lithuania scored the only goal of the match five minutes after the hour mark when Liucija Vaitukaitytė played a neat pass to 18-year-old forward Ugnė Lazdauskaitė, who scored past Jordan goalkeeper Malak Shanak.

Next up for the Jordanians are hosts Armenia on Saturday before facing Lebanon in their final match on April 12.

Lebanon's tie against Armenia, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed to Thursday.

Lebanon, who are also preparing for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers will then take on Lithuania on Saturday.
