AFC Youth Player of the Year (Men) 2018: Turki Al Ammar
Muscat: Turki Al Ammar's role in Saudi Arabia emerging champions of the AFC U-19 Championship Indonesia 2018 title, saw the budding star named as the AFC Youth Player of the Year (Men) at the 2018 AFC Annual Awards in Muscat on Wednesday.
The attacking midfielder lived up to head coach Khalid Abdullah Atawi's pre-tournament challenge to perform, which climaxed with the 19-year-old named the AFC U-19 Championship Indonesia 2018 Most Valuable Player.
Al Ammar enjoyed a successful tournament, scoring four goals, as Saudi Arabia won the AFC U-19 title for the third time.

Such is Al Ammar's talent that the youngster - who plays for Al-Shabab FC - was also voted the Saudi Pro League Young Player of the Season earlier in 2018.
Speaking after receiving the MVP award in Indonesia, Al Ammar said: "The coach giving me that challenge gave me the confidence to be in this position.
"I give this victory to all Saudi people and I congratulate the whole Saudi population."
