Kuala Lumpur: 43 football and 18 futsal referees are set to take the first step in their journey to become elite referees as they gathered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Tuesday for the 2018 AFC Referees Recruitment courses happening concurrently.
The three-day course, which is a prelude to the AFC elite panel, aims to evaluate referees on their technical knowledge and physical condition to officiate high-level matches, with classroom lectures to update the referees on the latest Laws of the Game amendments and report writing skills.
The participants’ fitness level will be tested as well as their knowledge on refereeing through a practical evaluation followed by an analysis of actual match situations and video tests.
