FFA teams up with Australian Red Cross to support the Australian community’s response to COVID-19

Sydney: Football Federation Australia (FFA) is lending its voice to Australian Red Cross’ work, supporting some of the most vulnerable caught up in COVID-19 pandemic across the country.

As the largest club-based participation sport in the country with a participation base of approximately 1.96 million participants, FFA recognises that football has an important civic duty towards the collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sun, Chhetri and Kyaw join forces against COVID-19 in latest AFC #BreakTheChain episode

Kuala Lumpur: Chinese Football Association (CFA) Vice President Sun Wen, acknowledged as one of the greatest women footballers to have graced the world stage joins India’s all-time leading scorer Sunil Chhetri as well as Myanmar captain Kyaw Zin Thet in the latest instalment of the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) #BreakTheChain campaign, which was launched earlier this week to combat the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. 

The #BreakTheChain campaign, which garnered the support of more than 50 Asian players and officials in less than 48 hours since its launch on Thursday, encourages people not only to adopt the best hygiene practises as underlined by the World Health Organization (WHO) but also inspires hope and solidarity in these challenging times.

UAE FA launches 'Our Championship is Your Safety' campaign amid COVID-19 pandemic

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates Football Association has launched an initiative to emphasise the need for the country’s residents to adhere to safety measures put in place to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The “Our Championship is Your Safety” initiative was launched on Sunday. The UAE FA has postponed all football for an initial period of four weeks from March 15, a decision made in line with government directives.
