Iraqi Premier League called off
Baghdad: The Iraq Football Association normalisation committee has announced the cancellation of the current Iraqi Premier League season.
The decision, following consultation with the 15 clubs, is due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Japan unveils professional WE League
The committee said the decision was in order to “preserve the readiness of the national team players who have to be prepared for the resumption of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”
The committee also decided to stage a “refresher” tournament for the clubs in order to determine who will be representing Iraq in the continental club competitions.
The new season is tentatively scheduled to kick-off on September 10, pending the health status and medical guidelines in Iraq.
