Johor Darul Ta'zim clinch Malaysia Cup

Shah Alam: Goals by Aidil Zafuan Abdul Razak and Gonzalo Cabrera gave Johor Darul Ta'zim a 2-0 win over Kedah in the Malaysia Cup final at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday.

Malaysian Super League champions Darul Ta'zim started aggressively in a final played in a packed stadium and were rewarded as early as the second minute when Abdul Razak rose high to nod home a corner taken by Safiq Rahim.

Darul Ta'zim, who lost the Malaysia Cup final to Pahang in 2014, continued to dominate and could have widened their lead on several occasions but were let down by poor finishing.

Kedah were a different side in the second half and could have drawn level in the 55th minute but Baddrol Baktiar's effort rocked the crossbar.

The team from north Malaysia were left to rue that miss just minutes later as Cabrera scored Darul Ta'zim's second goal in the 62nd minute.
