Kuala Lumpur: Kuwait Football Association (KFA) has been awarded the AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze membership for its continued commitment in raising the level of grassroots football development.
The Grassroots Charter is a development tool for Member Associations to raise the quality of their grassroots programmes.
It identifies 20 performance categories, such as grassroots competitions, fairplay, partnerships and personal development, which have all been met by KFA.

In accordance to the AFC Charter, KFA has placed great emphasis in the development of football and its service to a large sector of Kuwaiti society by providing a comprehensive framework which promotes grassroots football in the country.
The association clearly explains its vision, planning and execution based on the KFA’s Philosophy of grassroots - young talents are considered as the core and hope for creating a sportive, well-built and healthy community.
KFA’s Grassroots administrative structure includes all the comprehensive programmes which the department of grassroots covers in KFA with cooperation from many bodies such as the Youth Public Authority, Private Academies, Official Clubs, Public Authority For Sport, Ministry Of Education, Special Needs ( Kuwait Sport Club For The Deaf ) and Woman Committee.
The Grassroots Department has qualified staff and active coordinators with excellent experience whose aim is to upgrade grassroots project to the highest level required.
KFA has enjoyed a successful partnership with public and government agencies, who work closely with the association’s grassroots department on numerous projects.
These local entities contribute financial and logistical support as well as provide KFA with fields and facilities aimed at developing grassroots football.
The Ministry of Education and KFA continue to have a fruitful partnership. Other agencies who are actively involved with KFA are Public Authority For Sport, Youth Public Authority and Kuwait Sport Club For the Deaf.
KFA has shown great importance to disadvantaged groups and has established centres to develop football across Kuwait.
KFA has played an active role in supporting various associations namely; WARBA Club for Disabled, Kuwait Society for the Welfare of Handicap Persons, Hope School For Special Needs and Public Authority of the Disabled.
Kuwait Sports Club for the Deaf (KSCD) is also one of the many establishments that has been working closely with KFA in developing grassroots football.
KSCD’s Cultural Committee, which plays an important role in providing programmes, cultural, social and recreational seminars, has formed a close bond with KFA.
