Former FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho, who is no stranger to the grandest stage having featured for the La Seleção in the 2014 and 2018 editions of the FIFA World Cup, said: “The next few weeks and months of this pandemic is crucial."

“Everyone in the world has the ability to change the course of our future and stop the spread. Now more than ever, we cannot afford to miss this precious opportunity. The world needs a full-fledged effort from every individual to break the chain. Our best chance of survival is to do our part for the sake of the person next to you.

“I am positive and optimistic that we have the tenacity and resolve to overcome this. Stay strong, stay safe and follow the guidelines only from the medical experts because they are the true heroes and our greatest hope of defeating this outbreak.”

Similarly, Phitiwat, who was instrumental in guiding Chiangrai United to their maiden Thai League 1 title in 2019 as well as the 2020 AFC Champions League Group Stage, added: “Unity is our beacon of hope to emerge from this unprecedented challenge stronger than before.

“We must never underestimate the importance of solidarity because it gives us hope in this temporary hour of despair to achieve the seemingly impossible. Our biggest source of inspiration are our medical workers who continue to brave great dangers to keep others safe and alive.

“In the same way, the spread of this outbreak has a ripple effect, kindness, self-discipline and compassion is equally as powerful to break the chain. We have made so much progress together in the last few months, so I call upon everyone to keep a positive mindset and remain strong for each other.”

China PR’s Yu, who scored the decisive penalty for Shanghai SIPG in their famous quarter-final shootout victory over Paulinho’s Guangzhou Evergrande in one of the greatest classics of the AFC Champions League in 2017 also features in today’s video with former Korea Republic captain and Manchester United star Park Ji-sung set to headline the series in the coming week.
