Rustam Emomali elected to helm CAFA
Dushanbe: The 4th Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Congress concluded on Wednesday with Rustam Emomali elected unopposed for a four-year term until 2023.
The Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) President replaces Uzbekistan representative Umed Ahmadjonov at the helm of the CAFA Executive Committee as the CAFA Headquarters moves from Tashkent to Dushanbe.
Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Vice President Dastanbek Konokbayev was elected First Vice President of the Central Asian Football Association while Turkmenistan Football Federation Secretary General Arslan Ainazarov was elected as the Second Vice President.
Shahab Fazil Mohammad of Afghanistan and representatives from Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan - who will be announced in course - were elected to make up the CAFA Executive members.

“Football has been gradually developing in Central Asia including in Tajikistan as a result of implementation of the FIFA and AFC development programs. This is why Tajikistan government has approved national programs for the development of football for the period of 2012-2016 and 2017-2021," said Emomali.
“Today, taking this opportunity I would like to inform all Member Associations of CAFA that we have proposed tax exemption for all football related activities to Tajikistan government. I believe that this a big privilege for CAFA and its Member Associations”.
