Teenage midfielder Witan Sulaeman has become the latest Indonesian prospect to sign with a European club, officially joining Serbian Superliga outfit FK Radnik Surdulica on a reported three-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday.

Sulaeman, 18, makes the move to Europe a little over a year after bursting onto the scene at the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship, which was held in his home country, where he scored three goals in four matches, including the winning strike against United Arab Emirates, which took Indonesia to the quarter-finals.

More recently a member of Indonesia’s U-23 squad, Sulaeman’s European move sees him follow in the footsteps of national teammate Egy Maulana Vikri, who joined Poland’s Lechia Gdansk in March 2018.

Kyrgyz Republic national captain Valerii Kichin has sealed his return to Russian football, signing a one-year deal with second-tier outfit FC Torpedo Moscow on Monday.

The 27-year-old defender joins the club following a relatively short stint with Dinamo Minsk of Belarus, having previously played for a number of Russian teams following his initial move from Bishkek’s FC Dordoi in 2012.

Torpedo Moscow are currently second in the FNL Championship, giving Kichin a strong chance at a return to the Russian Premier League, where he last played for Yenisey Krasnoyarsk in 2019.

Australian women’s national team wonderkid Mary Fowler will take her first steps in European club football after joining French club Montpellier HSC on Monday.

Fowler, who turned 17 on Friday, joins the two-time French champions after scoring three goals in seven appearances this season for W-League club Adelaide United.

A headline-grabber when selected for the Matildas’ 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad at the age of 16, Fowler is the first Australian to ever join Montpellier, who have previously played hadAsian stars such as Aya Sameshima and Rumi Utsugi in their ranks.

Tajikistan’s FC Khujand have boosted their squad ahead of the imminent AFC Cup play-off fixtures against PFC Neftchi of Kyrgyz Republic, inking deals with national team midfielder Fatkhulo Fatkhulloev and Uzbek forward Andrey Sidorov in a 24-hour span.

Fatkhollev, 29, is a richly experienced Tajik international, racking up more than 60 caps in an international career which he started as a 17-year-old back in 2007, while Sidorov, 24, arrives at the club as a former Asian champion, having scored the winning goal when Uzbekistan beat Vietnam in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship Final in China PR.

New Khujand boss Nikola Lazarevic will be hoping the duo will be able to power the club back into the AFC Cup group stage alongside FC Dordoi, FC Istiklol and Altyn Asyr FC.

Ceres Negros have confirmed the return of Manuel Ott to the Bacolod-based club.

The German-born Filipino left the Busmen in 2019 for a short stint with Thai League 1 side Ratchaburi Mitr Phoi.

His arrival will see him back in Continental club action next Monday when Ceres Negros go up against Cambodia's Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC in Group G of the 2020 AFC Cup, where they will also have Than Quang Ninh of Vietnam and Indonesia's Bali United for company.

Tajikistan international Nuriddin Davronov has sealed a return to Indonesian football, signing a one-year deal with Samarinda-based Borneo FC.

The 29-year-old midfielder previously featured for Indonesian outfit Madura United in the 2018 season, and also spent time playing club football in Serbia, Bulgaria and Oman, but makes his latest move from Tajikistan domestic powerhouse FC Istiklol.

Davronov has featured in the Tajikistan national team since 2008, earning over 50 caps for his country.

Kaya FC-Iloilo have announced the signing of three new players and a new head coach, who will be taking over ahead of their 2020 AFC Cup campaign.

The first is Daizo Horikoshi, 23, who had caught the eyes of many with his performances with Albirex Niigata FC in Singapore, and the forward scored two goals against Stallion-Laguna FC in a friendly match two days ago.

Trinidad and Tobago international Carlyle Mitchell comes into the mix from St. Ann's Rangers, offering a wealth of experience that includes playing in Canada, United States, Korea Republic, India and now the Philippines.

Roberto Corsame Jr. transferred from Tondo FC, and the squad will be led by newly-appointed head coach Oliver Colina, who previously managed Leylam FC to three Aboutiz Football Cup Men's Open titles.

Kaya will get into AFC Cup action next week when they travel to Yangon, Myanmar to face Shan United FC in Group H that also consists Tampines Rovers FC of Singapore and Indonesia's PSM Makassar.

Central Coast Mariners have announced signing Chris Harold from Perth Glory.

The 27-year-old winger is hopeful of making the difference for the Gosford-based club and also shared his excitement of playing under former Matildas boss Alen Stajcic, saying: "I'm here to remind people that I'm still here and I've got a lot to give to the league and to Central Coast Mariners.

"They look like a more organised and hard to beat unit. Compared to the last couple of years, it looks like Alen has made a really good impact since he came in. There is a lot talent in this team and I'm excited to be part of it."

Perth Glory FC have confirmed signing Carlo Armiento until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old forward will be available for both the A-League and the 2020 AFC Champions League campaigns.

The South Australian joined Adelaide United in 2018 and in addition to representing the Reds on a regular basis in both the Youth League and SA National Premier League, made five appearances for the senior team last season.

He is now relishing the prospect of launching the next chapter of his fledgling career in the West.

“I’m really looking forward to playing with the Premiers of Australia,” said Armiento. “Tony Popovic is a very good coach and the boys haven’t lost for a while now, so hopefully I can contribute in whatever way I’m required to.

“Being involved in the AFC Champions League, if selected, is also something very exciting.

“There are a number of Adelaide boys in the Glory squad, like Daniel Margush, Vinnie Lia and Tarek Elrich, so I’m looking forward to getting back out on the track again with them.”

After three years playing in China PR with Shijiazhung Ever Bright and most recently with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC, Adriano has returned to FC Seoul.

The 32-year-old forward have experienced success in the K League 1. Adriano made history in 2016 when he scored 35 goals in a season as FC Seoul recorded a sixth trophy lift.

Adriano was yet again influential for Jeonbuk in their 2018 season as he secured his second K League 1 title.

FC Seoul will be hoping Adriano flexes his muscles not just in the domestic title race, but also as they compete in the 2020 AFC Champions League, where they will face Beijing FC, Chiangrai United and Melbourne Victory in Group E.

Chinese Super League (CSL) outfit Shanghai Shenhua have announced the arrivals of Feng Xiaoting, Zeng Cheng and Zhu Baojie as new signings ahead of the 2020 CSL season.

Centre-back Feng, 34, joins on loan from reigning CSL champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

During his nine-year spell in Guangzhou, he helped the team to win two AFC Champions League titles, eight Chinese Super League championships, four CFA Super Cups and two CFA Cups.

Feng has also been capped 76 times for the Chinese national team, scoring one goal, and also has experience of playing outside China, with a two-year stint in Korea Republic's K-League earlier in his career.

Like Feng, Zeng also joins Shenhua on loan from Evergrande. The 32-year-old has been named the CSL's best goalkeeper on three occasions, and has 42 caps for the Chinese national team.

Zhu, 30, joins the club from Beijing Renhe to mark a homecoming of sorts, as the Liuzhou-born midfielder came through the youth ranks at Shenhua before establishing himself at crosstown rivals Shanghai Shenxin, and then moving onto Guangzhou R&F.


Azizjon Ganiev’s superb appearances for Uzbekistan at last month’s AFC U23 Championship in Thailand haven’t gone unnoticed, after the highly rated 21-year-old sealed a two-year deal with Emirati high-flyers Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC on Monday.

The central midfielder, also part of Uzbekistan’s title-winning squad at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship in China, moves on after five seasons and more than 90 league appearances at FC Nasaf; with whom he won the Uzbekistan Super Cup as a 17-year-old in 2016.

As fate would have it, Shabab Al Ahli’s AFC Champions League group stage campaign will begin in Ganiev’s homeland. They’re set to meet Uzbek champions FC Pakhtakor in their opening Group B fixture on Monday.

Qatar's Al Sadd SC have confirmed signing Mexico international Marco Fabian from Philadelphia Union.

Fabian began his senior career with his boyhood club Guadalajara in 2007, and made his first transfer out of the country in 2016 to play in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, before moving to the United States two years later.

The 30-year-old midfielder also assisted Mexico to their first-ever Olympic gold medal in football at London 2012, and will be a formidable addition to the Doha-based club.

The reigning Qatar Stars League champions will be participating in the 2020 AFC Champions League, where they have Islamic Republic of Iran's Sepahan FC, Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr and Al Ain of the UAE in Group D.

Melbourne Victory have bolstered their squad with the addition of former Central Coast Mariners midfielder Giancarlo Gallifuoco.

Able to play in both defence and midfield, Gallifuoco’s versatility and experience will be crucial for Victory as they embark on a hectic schedule with both A-League and 2020 AFC Champions League duty.

Gallifuoco first came to prominence when he spent several years in the youth sides at both Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City.

He then returned to Australia and made his senior debut with Victory in the A-League 2015/16 campaign.

Gallifuoco had further stints in the lower leagues in England and Italy before again returning to Australia and playing for both Western Sydney Wanderers and the Mariners.

“It is wonderful to be returning to Melbourne. The opportunity to pull on the Victory shirt again and compete in both the A-League and Champions League made the decision very easy,” Gallifuoco said.

Persija Jakrta have strengthened their backline with the addition of Marco Motta and Marc Klok to the squad.

Motta, 33, is a well-known centre-back, having previously played with Roma, Juventus and Watford, and most recently with Omonio.

The former Italy international will be playing alongside Klok, who made his move from PSM Makassar.

Klok is no stranger to Indonesia's Liga 1, having played with the Bali-based club the past three years.

Persija finished 10th in the 2019 season, but will be hoping for a stronger performance this time around as they seek a second club title.

Japan veteran Keisuke Honda has joined Brazilians Botafogo, the player and club announced on social media on Friday.

The 33-year-old former AC Milan midfielder left Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem in December less than two months after joining the Eredivisie team and playing just four matches.

"Hi, how are you? My name is Keisuke Honda and I play for Botafogo. See you soon in Rio," Honda said in Portuguese in a video on his Twitter account.

Shortly afterwards, the club confirmed his signing with an animation inspired by Japanese cartoons of the 1980s.

Honda is one of Japan's greatest ever players, having scored 37 goals in 98 international matches.

He helped his country win the 2011 AFC Asian Cup and played in three FIFA World Cups, scoring four goals.


Southampton defender Maya Yoshida joined Serie A club Sampdoria on loan for the rest of the season on Friday, the Italian side said.

The 31-year-old Japan captain joins Sampdoria on a six-month loan with an option to extend for the 2020-21 season, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Yoshida has 100 senior caps for Japan and made 154 Premier League appearances, the most by a Japanese player.

He started his career with Nagoya Grampus, before he signed with Dutch top-flight club VVV Venlo in January 2010, then Southampton in the summer of 2012.

Yoshida had made six starts for the Saints this season, his eighth year in the Premier League.


UAE Pro League side Al Ain announced on Friday that they have acquired the services of Kazakhstan national team captain Bauyrzhan Islamkhan on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder will join Al Ain from two-time Kazakhstan league champions FC Kairat.

Islamkhan has signed on till the end of the UAE 2019-20 season.

“I know the value and position of Al Ain and I hope that I can be a good addition to the team,” said Islamkhan to the Al Ain official website. “Al Ain are a big team and they played against Real Madrid in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2018.”

After starting his professional career with Taraz in 2011, Islamkhan moved to Russia with Kuban Krasnodar.

The two-time Kazakh Footballer of the Year returned to Kazakhstan in 2014 to join Kairat whom he helped win the Kazakhstan Cup twice.


Esteghlal FC have confirmed signing Bulgarian Nikolay Bodurov from CSKA Sofia.

The 33-year-old centre-back began his career with Pirin Blagoevgrad in 2004 and joinedLitex Lovech in 2009, before moving to England to play with Fulham FC in 2014. After being out on loan with Danish side Midtjylland in 2016, Bodurov returned to Bulgaria.

This marks Bodurov's first move to the Continent, where he will not only aim to help Esteghlal attain a ninth Iran Pro League title, but also compete in the 2020 AFC Champions League, where the Tehran-based club powered through the qualifying rounds to reach the group stage.

Esteghlal will have UAE's Al Wahda FSCC, Iraq's Al Shorta and Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli Saudi FC for company in Group A.

Reigning Iran Pro League champions Persepolis have announced the signing of former Irish international Anthony Stokes.

Stokes, who began his senior career with Arsenal in 2005, spent most of his career in Europe, but made his first move to Asia in 2018 when he joined Iranian club Tractor.

He then transferred to Adana Demirspor for a year, and will now help bolster the Persepolis front line in the Iran Pro League and the 2020 AFC Champions League, which they are set to kick off their Group C campaign on February 11 against Qatar's Al Duhail, before facing Al Taawoun of Saudi Arabia and UAE's Sharjah.

Thailand international Teerasil Dangda has moved to Japan's Shimizu S-Pulse from Muangthong United.

The 31-year-old striker, a core member of the Thai senior national team since 2007, is no stranger to the J1 League, having been on loan to Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2018, where he scored six goals in 32 appearances.

Qatar Stars League pacesetters Al Duhail announced on Thursday that Iraq international striker Mohanad Ali will be loaned out to Portuguese outfits Portimonense for six months.

The 19-year-old forward joined Al Duhail last July from Iraqi Premier League champions Al Shorta but failed to have a regular place with the six-time Qatar champions.

“The club administration agreed to the offer of Portuguese club Portimonense to sign Iraqi player Ali for six months with an option to buy the contract after the end of the loan period," said Al Duhail in an official statement.

Ali made his breakthrough with Al Shorta back in 2014, helping the team win the Iraq league season, before finishing as the top scorer in the 2018-19 season.

He has also made good impact with the Iraq national teams as he won the 2014 AFC U-14 Championship and was the top scorer of the competition with six goals, before making his debut with the senior national team back in 2017. Ali was also a member of Iraq squad in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup scoring two goals.

Australia U-23 captain Thomas Deng has joined Urawa Red Diamonds ahead of the upcoming J-League season, the club has announced.

In a statement on the club website, the two-time AFC Champions League winners said they had acquired the 22-year-old defender on a full transfer from Australian side Melbourne Victory.

The move comes just days after Deng led Australia to qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games via a third-place finish at the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020.

In a video message posted on the Reds' Twitter account, Deng, who made his full Socceroos debut in October 2018, said he was looking forward to playing for the club.

"I'm very excited to join the team. It's been a quick process but I'm here and I can't wait to commence training, to meet all the players and all the staff," said the centre-back.

Gulzhigit Alykulov, the 2019 Kyrgyz Republic Player of the Year, will continue his career a little closer to home, after signing a two-year deal with high-flying Kazakhstani outfit FC Kairat on Monday.

While Kairat are based just 235km from Alykulov’s hometown of Bishkek, the move offers the youngster a ticket to European club competitions, with the club’s second-place finish in last year’s Kazakh Premier League earning them a place in the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds.

London: Australian international Caitlin Foord has joined Arsenal from Sydney FC, the Gunners announced on Friday.

The 25-year-old forward started her career at Sydney FC and has since gone on to play for Perth Glory, Sky Blue FC, Vegalta Sendai Ladies and Portland Thorns FC.

At the age of 16, Caitlin was named in the Matildas Squad for the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany and was awarded ‘Best Young Player’ of the tournament. She has since featured for her national side on 77 occasions.

Changchun: China League One club Changchun Yatai announced the signing of Brazilian playmaker Serginho from J1 League giants Kashima Antlers on Friday.

Serginho was a crowd favourite at Antlers, where he spent two seasons with the club after joining them in 2018. The 24-year-old have made 43 appearance and scored 15 goals for the J1 League side and helped them win the AFC Champions League crown in 2018.

Sharjah: Brazilian winger Caio Lucas Fernández joined 2019 UAE Pro League champions Sharjah FC on an 18-month loan deal from Portuguese giants Benfica on Thursday.

The 25-year-old was awarded J1 League Rookie of the Year during his first season with Kashima Antlers in 2014 where he spent three seasons and also played in the UAE Pro League between 2016 to 2019 with Al Ain.

Melbourne: Melbourne Victory announced that *Marco Rojas *will return to the club on a two and a half-year deal.

The exciting midfielder previously had two stints with the Victory from 2011/12 - 2012/13, and again in the 2016/17 season. During that time he played 75 games, scored 28 goals and was awarded a Johnny Warren Medal.

The New Zealand international will add to the club’s attacking options, which includes captain Ola Toivonen, Andrew Nabbout and Robbie Kruse.

Buraidah: Saudi Pro League club Al Taawoun have strengthened their squad with the signing of Mohammad Al Sahlawi from Al Shabab, the 2019 King's Cup winners announced on Wednesday.

Abu Dhabi: Four-time UAE Pro League champions Al Wahda have acquired the services of Congolese international forward Paul-José M'Poku, the club announced on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old winger joins the Abu Dhabi-based club from Belgian giants Standard Liège with whom M’poku won the Belgium Cup in 2018.

After starting his professional career in England’s third division, M'poku moved to Belgium where he played four seasons with Standard Liège before he was loaned out to Cagliari in Italy.

Dubai: Uzbekistan Super League champions FC Pakhtakor have bolstered their attacking ranks ahead this year’s AFC Champions League, completing the signing of 60-cap Swiss international Eren Derdiyok late on Friday.

A Turkish Super League winner with Galatasary, the 31-year-old joined the club on a free transfer from Göztepe, with a two-year contract announced by Pakhtakor.

In a career which has seen him traverse Europe, signing with Pakhtakor is Derdiyok’s first step into Asian club football.

The Basel-born striker began his career at local clubs Old Boys and FC Basel, before spending five years in the German top-flight with Bayer Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim.

Since 2014 he has plied his trade in Turkey; first for Istanbul-based Kasımpaşa, then for city rivals Galatasaray, where he scored 20 league goals in 63 appearances and lifted the 2017-2018 title before his departure in 2019.

Derdiyok’s time at Göztepe was brief, making just five goalless league appearances, although he did find the net three times is as many appearances in the Turkish Cup, including his final appearance on December 19.

At international level, Derdiyok has found the net on 11 occasions, and featured in Swiss squads for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championships in both 2008 and 2016.

Pohang signed O'Neill from A League side Sydney FC for an undisclosed fee and the midfielder was unveiled after passing his medical.

Al Ain announce Pedro Emanuel as new coach

Abu Dhabi: Inaugural AFC Champions League winners Al Ain have appointed Portuguese Pedro Emanuel as head coach till the end of the 2020-21 season.

The 44-year-old Emanuel replaces Croatian Ivan Leko who parted ways with Al Ain in December. The club are currently fifth in the UAE Pro League standings.

He also coached Apollon Limassol in Cyprus before taking charge of Saudi outfit Al Taawoun while he spent three months with Spanish second division club UD Almeria last year.


Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors have announced the return of Kim Bo-kyung, signing the 2019 K League 1 Most Valuable Player from Ulsan Hyundai.

Kim, 30, spent the 2019 season with Ulsan Hyundai, on a one-year loan from his original club in Japan, Kashiwa Reysol. He scored a career-high 13 goals to earn his first MVP award.

Al Ahli Saudi FC have confirmed signing former German international Marko Marin from Red Star Belgrade.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder began his football career with Borussia Mongchengladbach II, before transferring to Werder Bremen.

In 2012, Marin made his first move overseas, signing with Premier League side Chelsea. Over the next few years, Marin was on loan with Sevilla, Fiorentina, Anderlechy and Trabzonspor.

From 2016 to 2018, Marin plied his trade with Olympiacos.

This marks Marin's first move to the Continent, where he will be playing a crucial role in assisting Ah Ahli when they compete in the 2020 AFC Champions League play-off stage.

Uzbekistan international defender Islom Tukhtakhujaev is moving on after seven seasons with Tashkent powerhouse PFC Lokomotiv, signing a deal with newly promoted China League One outfit Shenyang Urban FC.

Vietnam national team forward Nguyen Cong Phuong has joined Ho Chi Minh City FC on loan for the coming season.

Nguyen makes a return to Vietnamese domestic football after having signed for Belgian Pro League side Sint-Truidense VV on a one-year loan deal from his parent club Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) FC in July.

Doha: Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic has joined Al Duhail from Juventus, the Qatari club announced Tuesday.

According to local media, Mandzukic signed up on a two-and-a-half year contract. No transfer details were given.

The 33-year-old forward has not played for Italian giants Juventues since Mauricio Sarri took over as coach in June.

Al-Duhail are currently top of the Qatar Stars League and count Mandzukic's former Juve teammate Mehdi Benatia in their squad.

In his time with Juventus, where Mandzukic arrived in 2015, he won four league titles, three Italian cups, a Supercup and was also part of the team that lost the 2017 Champions League final.

He previously played for Dinamo Zagreb (2007-10), Wolfsburg (2010-12), Bayern Munich (2012-14) and Atletico Madrid (2014-15).

With Bayern, Mandzukic won two Bundesliga titles as well as the 2013 Champions League. Internationally, he scored 33 goals in 89 appearances for Croatia, making the final of the 2018 World Cup won by France.

K League 1 side FC Seoul have re-signed 30-year-old defender Kim Nam-chun on a three-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday.

Kim, who made his K League 1 debut with Seoul in 2012, will play for the club until the end of the 2022 season.

Throughout Kim’s seven seasons in the K League, he appeared in 92 matches and scored four goals and two assists. Kim helped Seoul win the FA Cup in 2015 and K League 1 title in 2016.

Philippines Football League champions Ceres-Negros FC have strengthened their squad by signing national striker Mark Hartmann from Thai League 1 club Nakhon Ratchasima.

The well-travelled Hartmann, who has 26 caps and seven goals for the Azkals, will join new signing Hikaru Minegishi, and defender Arnie Pasinabo, who moved back to the Bacolod-based club after a one year stint with Kaya F.C.–Iloilo.

Johor Darul Ta'zim have signed Liridon Krasniqi ahead of the 2020 season, the club announced on Friday.

The 27-year-old midfielder will look to bolster the defending Malaysia Super League champions' charges as they set out to clinch a record-seventh domestic title, as well as a second consecutive appearance in the AFC Champions League.

Ghanaian-native Jordan Mintah has left Philippines Football League club Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo last week after agreeing to a one-year contract with the Terengganu FC II in Malaysia’s M League next year.

Mintah joins the side as a high-profile player after winning the top scorer award in the Philippines with an incredible 31 goals in 24 appearances last season.

Croatian striker Marko Simic has extended his contract with Indonesian side Persija Jakarta. The 31-year-old signed a new three-year deal until January 2023.

Vietnam U-23 national team goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung has left Vietnamese champions Hanoi FC to join V.League 1 rivals Ho Chi Minh City FC, the club announced on Wednesday.

Swedish-born playmaker Amin Nazari has joined Malaysia Super League outfit Kedah FA for the 2020/21 season, the club announced.

Amin, 26, said he is eager to get started after having heard so much about Kedah.
