Kuala Lumpur: Al Hilal SFC received a morale booster ahead of Tuesday's 2019 AFC Champions League semi-finals second leg with a big win that kept them on top of the Saudi Pro League on Friday.

Al Sadd, who face Al Hilal in Tuesday's Continental semi-final, were not in action as their Qatar Stars League tie was postponed, UAE Pro League defending champions Sharjah continued their perfect record and Kuwait SC maintained their unbeaten run in Kuwait.

Al Hilal prepared for their match against Al Sadd with a 3-0 victory against Damac on Friday as they remained at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings on 19 points.

The Riyadh giants are now four points clear of Al Wahda, who edged Al Ittihad 1-0 while defending champions Al Nassr returned to winning ways after three winless matches thanks to a 2-0 triumph over Al Raed.

Al Ahli stayed third with a 3-1 win against Al Taawon while surprise package Al Faisaly maintained their unbeaten record with a 1-0 defeat of Al Hazm.

Qatar: Al Duhail back on top

Al Duhail returned to the summit of the QSL standings just 24 hours after Al Rayyan, who defeated Qatar SC 5-0, climbed to the top of the league as Al Duhail edged Umm Salal 1-0 on Sunday.

Al Sadd's match against Al Khor was postponed due to their AFC Champions League commitments, which gave Al Gharafa the chance to climb to third place in the standings after a 1-0 win against Al Arabi.

In other matches, Al Ahli SC scored a 2-2 draw with Al Shahaniya while Al Sailiya edged Al Wakrah 3-1 thanks to a brace from Iran international forward Karim Ansarifard.

UAE: Sharjah continue fine run

Defending champions Sharjah continued their impressive form in the UAE Pro League with a fourth victory in as many matches, defeating Al Wasl 5-1 with a brace from leading scorer Igor Coronado.

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai edged Baniyas 2-0 to climb into second place, one point ahead of Al Ain who returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Hatta.

Al Jazira also returned to winning ways, defeating Khor Fakkan 3-1 while Spanish forward Alvaro Negredo scored two goals to steer Al Nasr to a 3-1 victory against Al Wahda.

Kuwait: Kuwait SC roll on

Fifteen-time league champions Kuwait SC claimed their third consecutive league victory, emphatically beating Al Tadhamon SC 6-2 on Saturday to remain top of the standings.

Al Qadsia dropped their first points of the season as they shared a 1-1 draw with Al Sahel while Al Salmiya played to a goalless draw with Kazma on Sunday to remain in third place.

Oman: Saham stay ahead

Saham remained at the top of the Oman Professional League standings with a 2-1 victory against Al Orouba on Friday.

Sohar regained winning form as they edged Al Nahda 1-0 to stay second while defending champions Dhofar beat Al Suwaiq 4-0 to climb to sixth, with a match in hand.

Palestine: Shabab's perfect start halted

Palestine league pacesetters Shabab Al Khalil dropped their first points of the season as they shared a 2-2 draw with Markez Balatah on Friday.

Defending champions Hilal Al Quds, who missed action in the previous two rounds due to their commitments in the Arab Club Championship, started their title defence with a 0-0 draw with Jabal Mukabar.
