Saudi Arabia: Al Wehda open title race with win over Al Hilal

Ahmed Abdoh Jaber scored in the first minute of added time to secure Al Wehda a dramatic 2-1 win over defending Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal on Sunday.

It was a stunning result as Al Hilal fell to their first defeat of the season.

Dimitri Petratos gave Al Wehda the lead with his seventh minute goal with Bafetimbi Gomis drawing Al Hilal level in the 70th.

Despite the defeat, Al Hilal remain top of the standings on 19 points, three ahead of Al Ahli who defeated Al Nassr 2-1 on Sunday.

The latest defeat means 2020 AFC Champions League semi-finalists Al Nassr have lost six of their eight matches so far and are 15th in the standings on four points.

Qatar: Al Sadd firmly in control

Al Sadd SC are threatening to run away with the Qatar Stars League title after another impressive win, defeating Al Gharafa 4-1 in a top-of the-table tie on Sunday to open a seven-point lead.

Boualem Khoukhi opened the scoring in the fifth minute with Santi Cazorla (63), Akram Afif (84) and Baghdad Bounedjah (90) securing them their eight win in nine matches. Koo Ja-cheol scored Al Gharafa's consolation in the 76th minute.

Al Gharafa's defeat means Al Ahli, who are two behind on 16 points, can move into second place should they defeat Al Kharaitiyat later on Monday.

Defending champions Al Duhail SC defeated Al Arabi 2-0 to sit in fifth place on 15 points.

UAE: Sharjah three points ahead

Welliton's spot-kick in the fifth minute of added time secured Sharjah a crucial 2-1 win over Al Wasl on Friday as the 2018-19 UAE Pro League champions maintained a three-point lead at the top of the standings.

Welliton had given Sharjah an early lead, opening the scoring in the 15th minute with Fabio de Lima drawing Al Wasl level from the penalty spot eight minutes before half time.

The dramatic ending, however, ensured Sharjah moved to 23 points, three ahead of closest challengers Al Jazira and Al Nasr.

Al Jazira defeated Al Wahda 2-0 on Saturday while Al Nasr had edged Al Fujairah 3-2 on Thursday.

Kuwait: Al Nasr stay ahead in exciting race

Al Nasr scored a 3-1 win over Al Tadhamon on Saturday to hold a one-point lead at the top of the Kuwait Premier League.

It is, at best, a nervous lead as Al Qadsia kept pace at the top of the standings after defeating Al Sulaibikhat 2-0 on Saturday to move to 25 points.

Only five points separate Al Nasr from fifth-placed Kuwait SC, the defending champions, with Al Salmiya and Kazma also very much in the race on 22 points.

Jordan: No stopping Al Wehdat

Al Wehdat continue to churn out wins as they inched closer to the Jordanian Pro League title with a 2-1 win over Al Ramtha on Saturday.

The result means Al Wehdat maintain a six-point lead over second-placed Al Jazeera, who defeated Al Faisaly 2-1 on Saturday to keep their title hopes alive.

Defeat for Al Faisaly meant the defending champions are 17 points behind leaders Al Wehdat.

Syria: Al Karama maintain narrow lead

Al Karama edged Al Foutoua 1-0 on Saturday to maintain a one-point lead over defending champions Teshrin in the Syrian Premier League.

In what is developing into an exciting race, Teshrin defeated Al Wathba 2-1 to stay in touch with the leaders, with Al Karama on 19 points.

Al Jaish sit in third place on 16 points after beating Al Sahel 1-0 on Saturday.

Iraq: Naft Al Wasat still lead despite draw

Naft Al Wasat lead the Iraqi Premier League with three points despite settling for a 2-2 draw with Al Talaba to move to 17 points on Saturday.

Al Zaw'raa stayed in hot pursuit after edging Al Sinaat Al Kahrabaiya 1-0 while defending champions Al Shorta, Al Talaba and Naft Maysan are all on 13 points.

Lebanon: Exciting four-way race developing

There is all to play for in the Lebanese Premier League with three teams on 18 points and another just two behind at the top of the standings.

Al Ansar are the current table toppers, but only on goal difference as Nejmeh and Shabab Al Sahel are also enjoying a great run of form.

Nejmeh drew level on points with Al Ansar after defeating their rivals 2-1 on Sunday while Shabab Al Sahel edged Shabab El Bourj 1-0 to also take a place at the summit.

Al Akhaa Al Ahli are on 16 points as a 0-0 draw with Bourj meant they missed a chance for a share of the lead.
