Al Hilal sign Mali's Moussa Marega

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia champions Al Hilal SFC have bolstered their attacking prowess by signing Mali international Moussa Marega on a three-year contract, the club announced on Monday.

Al Hilal, who are bidding to win their 16th Saudi Pro League title, will also be counting on the experienced Marega to power them in the 2021 AFC Champions League, with the 2019 winners having sealed a place in the Round of 16.

Marega has featured extensively for Portugal's FC Porto's in the UEFA Champions League, scoring nine goals in three seasons.

The striker has made 25 appearances for the Mali national team and his arrival is a boost for Al Hilal, who hold a three-point lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League.

Al Hilal advanced to the 2021 AFC Champions League Round of 16 as one of the three best runners-up, finishing second in Group A behind Tajikistan's FC Istiklol.

The Riyadh-based club will face Islamic Republic of Iran's Esteghlal FC in the Round of 16, which is scheduled for September.
