Kuala Lumpur: Following the conclusion of the AFC Champions League Elite™ Finals Jeddah 2025, we look back on the Match Predictor competition over what was a fantastic first edition of the continental competition in its new format.  

Al Ahli Saudi FC were crowned champions of Asia for the first time after beating Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 in the final to conclude an unbeaten campaign while there were numerous memorable matches along the way.  
 
From the opening round of fixtures in September to the final in Jeddah in early May, we highlight the standout numbers from the Match Predictor.

#ACLElite 2024/25 Fantasy Football: And that’s a wrap!

Kuala Lumpur: The curtain came down on the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 when Jeddah giants Al Ahli Saudi FC were crowned the Kings of Asian Football after beating Kawasaki Frontale in the final. 

The final also brought an end to our inaugural AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 Fantasy Football campaign. Thanks to all who played – we hope you had fun and we look forward to seeing you again next season.  
 
But before we break for the off-season, here’s a look back at some of the standout stats from a tournament that will live long in the memory.

Wuhan: Michael Matricciani did not hold back in commending the performance of his charges as Melbourne City FC edged Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC 1-0 in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 semi-final tie on Wednesday.

With both sides struggling to find the back of the net for 90 minutes, the match seemed destined for extra time before Shelby McMahon rescued Melbourne City with a 91st minute screamer, leaving Matricciani ecstatic.

Wuhan: Head coach Chang Weiwei was proud of his Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC side after they secured their berth in the final of the AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 following a 2-0 win against Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC on Wednesday.

Going into the match with the added pressure of being host of the Finals, Chang was happy to see goals from Wang Shuang (34th) and Song Duan (54th) sealing their progress, with Australia's Melbourne City FC their opponents on Saturday.

Wuhan: Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC marched into the final of the AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 after a commanding 2-0 win over Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC in their last four tie on Wednesday.

The China PR side were dominant from start to finish against their Vietnamese opponents and will face Australia's Melbourne City FC - who defeated Korea Republic's Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC 1-0 in their last four tie - in Saturday's final.

Wuhan: Shelby McMahon scored in the fourth minute of added time as Melbourne City FC stunningly booked their place in the final of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 after defeating Korea Republic’s Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC 1-0 in their semi-final on Wednesday.

McMahon’s late strike took the Australian side into a final showdown with China PR’s Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC on Saturday.
