Vientiane: Korea Republic recovered from the disappointing defeat against Malaysia by thumping hosts Laos 4-1 on Sunday to end their AFC U-16 Championship 2013 Group H campaign at second place behind group winners Malaysia.
Unbeaten Malaysia topped the group with 10 points from four matches while Korea Republic recorded three wins to net nine points. Host Laos managed seven points and finished third.
Striker Lee Seungwoo scored all the four goals for the Koreans while Laithaya Sisongkham netted a consolation goal for the hosts in the stoppage time of the match.
The top teams from ten different groups alongside with five best-runners up join host Thailand for the next year’s continental showpiece.
