Sydney: Australia's 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup preparations suffered a further hiccup, as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to World No 39 Chile on Saturday.
Emily van Egmond scored both Australian goals from the penalty spot, but the South Americans capitalised on series of defensive errors to ensure the Matildas' first loss on home soil since 2014.
The 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup runners-up are now winless in their past three fixtures, and have won just three of their past 11 international matches, while Chile earned a confidence-boosting win on the road to their first Women's World Cup.
