Uzbekistan 2027 hopefuls discover qualification path

Kuala Lumpur: Teams aiming to vie for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027™ title discovered their Qualifiers challenge following the Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 35 teams were divided into seven groups of five to contest a single round-robin centralised league for the qualifying rounds that run from November 8 to 20, 2026.

The seven group winners will join the nine AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 who have automatically qualified - Australia, China PR, Japan (defending champions), Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam - in the Finals.

Kuala Lumpur: Johor Darul Ta'zim began their Malaysia Super League title defence in emphatic fashion, beating Kuching City 3-0 to set a world record unbeaten league run to 109 matches.

Chengdu Rongcheng suffered a dramatic defeat but remain well clear at the Chinese Super League summit, while FC Machida Zelvia, Kashiwa Reysol and defending champions Kashima Antlers maintained their perfect starts in Japan.

FC Seoul strengthened their grip on top spot in Korea Republic with a seven-goal rout, while five teams made winning starts as the new Hong Kong Premier League season got underway.

Bishkek: Kaya FC-Iloilo showed defensive resilience as they held TSL FC to a goalless stalemate to stamp their ticket to the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Group Stage on Sunday.

The Philippines side were put under tremendous pressure by their Hong Kong, China counterparts with goalkeeper Yasmin Elauria in fine form as they topped Group B on seven points, the same as TSL but with a superior goal difference.

Bishkek: Hong Kong, China’s TSL FC inched closer towards the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Group Stage after cruising 4-0 past FC Ilbirs of Kyrgyz Republic on Thursday.

TSL will face Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines on Sunday for the Group B top spot with Ilbirs taking on Phnom Penh Crown FC of Cambodia in a consolation tie.

Bishkek: Hong Kong, China’s TSL FC got off to a positive start in the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Preliminary Stage with a 2-0 win against Phnom Penh Crown FC of Cambodia on Monday.

The three points in their opening Group B encounter will put TSL in good stead when they take on Kyrgyz Republic’s FC Ilbirs on Thursday with Phnom Penh to face Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines.

#U17WAC - Stage set for China 2027 Qualifiers

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2027 is all set for take off following the conclusion of the Qualifiers Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 30 teams - two more than the previous record of 28 from the 2019 Qualifiers - were divided into eight groups - six of four and two of three - to contest a single round-robin centralised league from October 5 to 11.

Each group winner will advance to the Finals, joining the quartet of teams that have qualified directly as the top four finishers from the 2026 campaign: defending champions DPR Korea, runners-up Japan, and semi-finalists Australia and China PR.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers are set to be a scintillating affair following the Official Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

To be staged between August 25 and September 6, 2026 in a centralised league system, these Qualifiers will feature the implementation of a new format as part of key reforms to the AFC’s youth competitions that were ratified earlier this year.

Designed to ensure more meaningful matches and opportunities for teams to compete against opponents of similar technical competency, a two-phase system featuring a promotion and relegation mechanism has been introduced.
