Round of 16 cast finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Round of 16 cast has been decided following the conclusion of Matchday Six of the West Zone on Wednesday.

The teams will know their knockout stage fate when the draw is held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 30.

Arad:  Esteghlal FC made their way into the Round of 16 with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Al Muharraq in their final AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Group A tie at the Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium on Wednesday. 

Goals from Esmaeil Gholizadeh, Duckens Nazon and Jasir Asani gave the Islamic Republic of Iran side eight points, six behind group winners Al Wasl of the UAE. Bahrain’s Al Muharraq, who were also in the running coming into the match, finished a point adrift.

Monday’s 2-1 win against Qatar’s Al Duhail SC - which took the Islamic Republic of Iran side to 14 points - was achieved the hard way as a second half revival saw Shojae Khalilzadeh equalising with Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh then netting a stoppage time winner.

Tabriz: Tractor FC booked their spot in the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ after fighting back to defeat Al Duhail SC 2-1 on Monday.

The win means that with 14 points, Dragan Skocic’s side are guaranteed a top eight finish while Djamel Belmadi’s Al Duhail still have much to do if they are to advance.
