Washington: Asia's representatives learnt their FIFA World Cup 2026 challengers following the conclusion of the draw at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on Friday.

The 48 teams were drawn into 12 groups for the global showpiece which will take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States on June 11-July 19, 2026.

Lingard announces FC Seoul exit

Seoul: Former Manchester United and England star Jesse Lingard said on Friday that he will leave FC Seoul next week after two seasons with the Korea Republic club.

The 32-year-old made the switch to the K League in February last year and made over 60 appearances for FC Seoul.

His last game for the club will be at home to Melbourne City in the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ on Wednesday.

Kuala Lumpur: The cast for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ was decided following the conclusion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The seven group winners join Asia's representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 - DPR Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan - at the Finals.

The Finals will be contested on May 7-24, 2026.

Kuala Lumpur: Australia and Japan produced impressive performances in victories against New Zealand and Canada as they continued their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.

Australia defeated New Zealand 5-0 on Friday while Japan cruised 3-0 past Canada on Saturday.

Korea Republic were held by Wales while Bangladesh, who will be making their AFC Women’s Asian Cup debut, suffered defeat against Malaysia.

Pohang: Head coach Park Tae-ha praised his team after their 2-0 win over BG Pathum United in Group H secured their place in the AFC Champions League Two™ Round of 16 on Thursday.
