Final draw: All you need to know

Kuala Lumpur: The Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be held on Friday and it promises to be a spectacular affair.

The expanded 48-team tournament - up from the 32-nation field that competed at the FIFA World Cup 2022 - will be played across the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19 next year.

Kuala Lumpur: The cast for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ was decided following the conclusion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The seven group winners join Asia's representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 - DPR Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan - at the Finals.

The Finals will be contested on May 7-24, 2026.

Kuala Lumpur: Australia and Japan produced impressive performances in victories against New Zealand and Canada as they continued their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.

Australia defeated New Zealand 5-0 on Friday while Japan cruised 3-0 past Canada on Saturday.

Shanghai: Jesse Lingard struck twice as FC Seoul handed Shanghai Port FC a 3-1 defeat at Pudong Football Stadium on Tuesday to boost the K League side’s hopes of a place in the next stage of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26.

The former Manchester United attacker gave his side the lead in the 48th minute and set up Lucas Silva to restore FC Seoul’s advantage in the 61st minute after Mateus Vital had levelled for the Chinese Super League champions.

Lingard put the seal on the win with 13 minutes remaining to take FC Seoul onto eight points from their opening five games in the East Zone while Shanghai Port remain rooted to the bottom on a solitary point.
