India defeated defending champions Bangladesh 3-0 to take the Group B pole, with both sides advancing.

#AFCU20 China 2027 - Stage set for Qualifiers

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers are set to be a scintillating affair following the Official Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

To be staged between August 25 and September 6, 2026 in a centralised league system, these Qualifiers will feature the implementation of a new format as part of key reforms to the AFC’s youth competitions that were ratified earlier this year.

Designed to ensure more meaningful matches and opportunities for teams to compete against opponents of similar technical competency, a two-phase system featuring a promotion and relegation mechanism has been introduced.

Earlier in the day, Nepal opened the tournament with a 1-0 win against Bhutan in a Group A encounter.

Vientiane: Laos concluded their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round campaign with a 1-0 win against Nepal in their Group E tie at the Lao National Stadium KM16 on Tuesday.

With Vietnam already qualifying from the group, the Southeast Asian side’s win saw them finishing third with six points with Nepal three adrift.

Australia defeated New Zealand 5-0 on Friday while Japan cruised 3-0 past Canada on Saturday.

Korea Republic were held by Wales while Bangladesh, who will be making their AFC Women’s Asian Cup debut, suffered defeat against Malaysia.

Qualifiers - Group G: Myanmar 2-0 Oman; Afghanistan 2-0 Nepal

Yangon: Myanmar assumed control in Group G of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers after defeating Oman 2-0 at Thuwunna Stadium on Friday.

The win sees Myanmar open a three-point gap on Oman as the Southeast Asian side seek a return to the Finals for the first time since 2006.

In the other match, Afghanistan secured a 2-0 win against Nepal to also move up to six points, three adrift of Myanmar.

Syria also enjoyed a winning start, overcoming a spirited Nepal to secure a 4-2 victory.

Kuala Lumpur:  Malaysia had to work hard before edging Nepal 1-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group F tie at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Tuesday.

With Vietnam only playing Laos on Wednesday, Malaysia moved six points clear at the top with the victory.
