Kuala Lumpur: Japan earned their second win over Canada in four days, with Mina Tanaka’s first half strike giving them a 1-0 win at Nagasaki Stadium on Tuesday.

Australia, meanwhile, also defeated New Zealand for a second time, winning 2-0.

Kuala Lumpur: Australia and Japan produced impressive performances in victories against New Zealand and Canada as they continued their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.

Australia defeated New Zealand 5-0 on Friday while Japan cruised 3-0 past Canada on Saturday.

Korea Republic were held by Wales while Bangladesh, who will be making their AFC Women’s Asian Cup debut, suffered defeat against Malaysia.

Qualifiers - Group G: Myanmar 2-0 Oman; Afghanistan 2-0 Nepal

Yangon: Myanmar assumed control in Group G of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers after defeating Oman 2-0 at Thuwunna Stadium on Friday.

The win sees Myanmar open a three-point gap on Oman as the Southeast Asian side seek a return to the Finals for the first time since 2006.

In the other match, Afghanistan secured a 2-0 win against Nepal to also move up to six points, three adrift of Myanmar.

Yangon: Oman registered their second win after cruising 5-0 past Nepal  in their AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers Group G fixture on Wednesday.

Syria got back to winning ways, registering a 3-1 victory over Afghanistan.

Yangon: Myanmar registered the second win of their campaign after cruising 4-0 past Nepal in their AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers Group G tie on Monday.

Oman, meanwhile, revived their hopes with a 3-1 defeat of Syria.

Yangon: Myanmar led from start to finish to clinch a 3-1 victory over Afghanistan in their AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Group G opener on Saturday.

Syria also enjoyed a winning start, overcoming a spirited Nepal to secure a 4-2 victory.

Kuala Lumpur:  Malaysia had to work hard before edging Nepal 1-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group F tie at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Tuesday.

With Vietnam only playing Laos on Wednesday, Malaysia moved six points clear at the top with the victory.

IR Iran held; Thailand triumphant

Kuala Lumpur: Islamic Republic of Iran and Cape Verde played to a goalless stalemate in an international friendly played on Thursday as both teams started preparations towards the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Iran are one of eight Asian teams who have already secured their spot in the global showpiece that will be held in Canada, Mexico and the United States while Cape Verde who are first-time qualifiers.

With neither side able to find the breakthrough in regulation time, the match went to penalties with Mehdi Taremi’s strike ensuring Iran won 5-4.

The qualification maintains an impeccable record for Thailand, who have graced every edition of the Finals since the competition began in 2005.

Chonburi: Nepal and Turkmenistan played to a 0-0 stalemate in their AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 Qualifiers Group F tie on Wednesday.

The draw means Nepal will have to defeat Thailand on Friday to seal qualification while Turkmenistan were eliminated.

Mixed feelings for Vietnam’s Kim

Ho Chi Minh City: Vietnam head coach Kim Sang-sik was left with mixed feelings after his side edged Nepal 1-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group F tie on Tuesday.

Inclement weather caused a 30-minute delay to the start of the match at Thong Nhat Stadium with Kim blaming the difficult conditions and poor finishing as the reasons for not achieving a bigger win.

Ho Chi Minh City:  An early own goal gifted Vietnam a 1-0 win over Nepal in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group F match on Tuesday. 

The win lifted Vietnam to nine points, three behind leaders Malaysia while Nepal remained anchored at the bottom of the group after losing all four of their matches.
