Doha: Al Nassr stayed top of the Saudi Pro League with two important victories this past week while Al Sadd SC maintained their tight grip in the Qatar Stars League.

Doha: Al Nassr Club seized the Saudi Pro League top spot back with an impressive win against Al Hazem as Al Hilal SFC were held.

Al Sadd SC moved clear in the Qatar Stars League while the UAE Pro League is set for an exciting conclusion with Shabab Al Ahli and Al Ain involved in a thrilling race.

Doha:  Qatar’s Al Ahli SC edged Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan SC of Islamic Republic of Iran 1-0 in extra time on Wednesday to book their spot in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ quarter-finals.

Tied 2-2 from the first leg, a goalless 90 minutes meant extra-time with Younes Ali’s side finding the winner through Sekou Yansane to set up a last eight tie with Jordan’s Al Hussein.

Al Rayyan: Goalscorer Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh hailed Tractor FC’s top-notch performance after the Islamic Republic of Iran side concluded their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ league phase with a 2-0 win against Al Gharafa SC on Tuesday.

Goalless in the first half, the already-qualified Tractor put the squeeze on Qatar’s Al Gharafa in the second half to snuff out their qualification hopes with Hosseinzadeh's 81st minute goal settling the contest after Mahdi Hashemnezhad had opened the scoring 20 minutes earlier.

Doha: Al Ittihad Club turned in a dominant performance to beat Al Sadd SC 4-1 in their final AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ tie at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.

The Saudi Arabia side finished fourth in the West Zone standings with Al Saad also qualifying after taking the last Round of 16 spot following fellow Qatari side Al Gharafa SC’s defeat to Tractor FC.

Al Rayyan: Al Gharafa SC’s hopes of reaching the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ Round of 16 ended in tatters following a 2-0 defeat to Tractor FC on Tuesday.

The opportunity to earn qualification was there to be taken following fellow Qatari side Al Sadd SC’s 4-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad Club but Pedro Martins’ side could not raise their game to find the much needed three points.

Victory for Tractor saw the Islamic Republic of Iran side finish third in the standings on 17 points, setting up a Round of 16 tie against United Arab Emirates’ Shabab Al Ahli.

Baghdad: Al Shorta - much to Al Duhail SC’s dismay - ended their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ campaign on a high with a 3-2 win against the Qatari outfit on Monday.

Senegal’s Bouly Sambou netted twice in the second half to power Iraq’s Al Shorta to the first win of their campaign, a result which left Al Duhail’s Round of 16 hopes hanging in the air.

Baghdad: Al Duhail SC’s Round of 16 hopes were left hanging by a thread following a 3-2 defeat to Al Shorta in their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ tie on Monday.

The defeat left Qatar’s Al Duhail seventh in the West Zone standings on eight points but they will be denied progression if fellow Qatari sides win their concluding League Stage matches on Tuesday.

Al Shorta, who came from behind to clinch victory, signed off in style with the Iraqi side notching their first win in the final match of their campaign.
