The Spaniard tactician tweaked his tactics to combat Shenhua’s strengths and was impressed with what the players showed as JDT climbed up to second in the East Zone standings, two points adrift of Japan’s Vissel Kobe.

Kobe: Jean Patrick did not hide his joy after scoring the winner in Vissel Kobe’s 1-0 defeat of Ulsan HD FC in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 on Wednesday.

The Brazilian forward broke the deadlock in the 58th minute at Kobe City Misaki Park Stadium, capping off a dominant performance from Takayuki Yoshida’s side as they not only returned to the summit but also opened a two-point lead.

Iskandar Puteri: Jonathan Silva scored twice as Johor Darul Ta’zim FC climbed up to second in the East Zone standings in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Shanghai Shenhua FC at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

Silva opened and closed the scoring for the hosts who also saw Oscar Arribas put his name on the scoresheet for the Malaysia Super League champions, who moved onto seven points from their first four matches in the league phase.

That puts Xisco Munoz’s team level on points with Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Ulsan HD, and ahead of the pair on goal-difference. Shenhua, meanwhile, remain on four points at the midway point in the schedule.

Kobe: Vissel Kobe returned to winning ways in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 on Wednesday as Takayuki Yoshida’s side handed Ulsan HD FC a 1-0 defeat at Kobe City Misaki Park Stadium to move back to the top of the East Zone standings.

Forward Jean Patrick scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute for a Kobe side that dominated for much of the 90 minutes and the win takes the J1 League champions two points clear at the summit.

The win comes two weeks after Kobe lost for the first time in the current campaign against Gangwon FC and moves them onto nine points from four matches, with Ulsan and Sanfrecce Hiroshima their closest challengers.
