Perth: Head coach Kotryna Kulbyte lavished praise on her team after Uzbekistan defeated Bangladesh 4-0 on Monday to reach the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™ quarter-finals for the first time.

Despite a slow start, Uzbekistan got the job done, scoring three goals in the second half with Nilufar Kudratova’s 88th-minute strike securing the Central Asian side’s advancement to the Australia 2026 knockout as one of the two best third-placed teams.

Perth: Uzbekistan advanced to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ quarter-finals with a 4-0 win against Bangladesh in their concluding Group B tie on Monday. 

The Central Asian side, appearing in the continental showpiece for the first time in 23 years, went for broke from the first blow of the whistle at the Perth Rectangular Stadium and were deserving winners as they booked a spot in the knockout stage as one of the two best third-placed sides.

Sydney: DPR Korea confirmed their quarter-final spot after a convincing 5-0 win against Bangladesh in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Group B tie on Friday.

The victory meant that Ri Song Ho’s side - on six points - booked their knockout place spot after China PR defeated Uzbekistan 3-0 in the day's later match, with the two pacesetters to square off on Monday to decide the group winners.
