AFC President confident Asia’s emerging stars will shine on global stage

Kuala Lumpur: Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President, has outlined his faith in the AFC’s representatives to dominate once again on the world stage as DPR Korea, Japan and Korea Republic prepare to battle at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3.

Asian sides have reached the final on five occasions and won the coveted crown four times in seven editions, and for the second time in history, the AFC will be represented by three former champions in a FIFA tournament.

Song Sung Gwon’s team lifted the title with a perfect five wins without conceding a single goal, producing yet another dominating display in the final  with Jon Il Chong’s second half effort settling the contest.
