Manama: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa met Saturday with Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) President HRH Prince Turki Bin Khaled Bin Faisal Al Saud on Saturday during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shaikh Salman welcomed the UAFA President and congratulated him on his re-election during the last UAFA congress in Cairo, saying that the decision made at Congress reflects the trust the Arab football family has in his ability to lead the UAFA to even greater heights.
The AFC President also said that the AFC is keen to develop yet more areas of cooperation with the UAFA in order to help develop football further in Asia, adding that the two sides are committed to fulfilling the MOU which they have and which concentrates on development and the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
HRH Prince Turki thanked Shaikh Salman for the warm reception, and congratulated him for the success of both the AFC and FIFA Congresses which were recently hosted in Manama.
The two parties also discussed future development plans uner the AFC's Vision and Mission banner - One Asia, One Goal - and UAFA preparations to launch a new Arab club championship this summer.
