AFC ramps up fan engagement efforts for new club competitions

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today underlined its commitment to establishing a deeper connection with fervent supporters of Asian football during the second meeting of the AFC Media & Communications Committee for the 2023-2027 term.

Updates on current and upcoming fan engagement initiatives were provided to the Committee at the virtual meeting, which was helmed by Chairperson Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar.

Kuala Lumpur: The journey to reach the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 continued on Monday with five of the 10 groups seeing Matchday Two action.

To run until September 29, the 10 groups - five of four teams each and five of five – of the Qualifiers will be contested in a centralised league format.

All group winners, along with the five best-placed runners-up, will progress to the final tournament and be joined by 1985 champions China PR, who also hosted the 2010 edition.

MIshref: United Arab Emirates made it two wins out of two after cruising to a 13-0 victory over Northern Mariana Islands in their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers Group C tie on Monday.

In the group's second match of the day, Korea Republic kicked off their campaign with a 3-0 win over Kuwait.

Abha: Australia left it late before securing a 2-0 win against Afghanistan in their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers Group D match on Monday.

In the later game, 10-man Palestine were held to a 1-1 draw by a gutsy Macau as both sides earned their first points in the group.

New Taipei: Defending champions Uzbekistan began their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers campaign in style, beating Cambodia 7-0 in their Group B match on Monday.

In the second match, Nepal bounced back from losing to Cambodia on Saturday to defeat Chinese Taipei 3-1 to keep their qualification hopes alive.
