AFC Football Medicine and Anti-Doping course kicks off in Hanoi

Hanoi: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), conducted the AFC Football Medicine and Anti-Doping Course from July 12 to 14, 2024 in the Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi.

Held at the headquarters of the VFF, 66 doctors, physiotherapists and allied medical personnel received updates on the latest knowledge in sports medicine and refreshed their clinical skills through training delivered by experts from the AFC Panel of Sports Medicine.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment towards maximising the capabilities of its Member Associations (MAs) reached a significant milestone with the conclusion of the AFC VAR Information Officer (VIO) Workshop 2024 on Thursday.

Taking place in a physical setting for the first time, the workshop was attended by 43 participants comprising of existing and newly nominated VIOs as well as observers from across 23 MAs and featured insightful presentations from experts from the AFC’s sister confederation UEFA, as well as FIFA.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted a visit to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) as part of its Women’s Assistance Programme (WAP), further underlining the Confederation’s commitment towards elevating the standards of women’s football on the Continent.

Taking place from July 4 to 6, the visit was led by AFC Head of Women’s Football Bai Lili, who held several productive discussions with PSSI General Secretary Yunus Nusi and PSSI Executive Committee member and Head of Women’s Football Committee Vivin C. Sungkono to establish a blueprint for the future of women’s football in the island nation.

AFC and NEOM announce global multi-year partnership extension

Kuala Lumpur: Following a successful four-year global sponsorship, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and NEOM have agreed to extend their partnership from 2024 to 2029.

NEOM will continue to serve as an Official Global Partner of the AFC’s national team and club competitions, while the agreement will also see NEOM become the Presenting Partner of both the newly unveiled AFC Champions League Elite™ Final Stage for the 2024/25 season – which features the Continent’s top eight sides competing in a centralised Knockout Stage format in Saudi Arabia from the Quarter-finals onwards – as well as the upcoming breakthrough AFC Women’s Champions League™ season.
