2nd KFU Football at School concludes with strong demand for similar initiatives

Osh City: The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU)’s drive to improve the capabilities of physical education (PE) teachers via their second Football at School programme proved to be as successful as its predecessor and looks set to similarly benefit future generations of children.

The six-month capacity-building programme, which concluded in July 2024, was again supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation. It was tailored for teachers in schools and orphanages, aligning itself with the Foundation’s three primary pillars of Child Safeguarding, Education and Social Inclusion.

Osh City: The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU)’s concerted efforts to enhance the capabilities of Physical Education (PE) teachers in the Republic reached a significant milestone when it launched the second edition of the “Football at School” programme on February 8, 2024. 

Supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation, the Football at School campaign exemplifies the Foundation’s overarching motto of “Football Cares” and underlines its three key pillars of Child Safeguarding, Education, and Social Inclusion.

KFU Football at School Programme set to enhance capacity of physical educators

Bishkek: The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU)’s commitment to enhance the capacity and capability of Physical Education (PE) teachers in the country marked a significant milestone with the introduction of the KFU Football at School Programme.

Supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation, the landmark initiative was unveiled on February 9, 2023, by KFU President Mederbek Sydykov and was brought to life in close partnership with the Department of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, the Sports Department of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, UNICEF and Red Crescent Kyrgyzstan, whose representatives were also present at the launch.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in collaboration with the United Nations’ (UN) Football For the Goals initiative (FFTG), organised the AFC-FFTG Workshop from July 23 to 24, 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, further underlining the Confederation’s determination to harness the power of football to drive social change.

The landmark event aimed to chart a clear path for the AFC, which became an FFTG member in October 2022, to capitalise on the opportunities presented through its involvement in the initiative, becoming a leading force in sustainability transformation within the global football community.

7th AFC Knowledge Sharing Programme kicks off

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) welcomed the latest batch of the Knowledge Sharing Programme on August 1, 2024.

The seventh edition of the capacity building initiative commenced on Thursday with two candidates from the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) being assigned to the Confederation’s Member Association (MA) Division. Here, the candidates will undergo intensive training from industry experts, gaining valuable insights into the best practices of football governance and administration.
