Kuala Lumpur: The power of football as a platform for social development continues to gain momentum with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Awards 2019 compiling a record 26 shortlist from Member Associations and many other organisations.
Leading the way in the Inspiring Member Associations category, which was introduced in 2018, are the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan Football Association, Football Association of Malaysia, Uzbekistan Football Association and the Chinese Football Association.
Bangladesh Football Federation, Hong Kong Football Association, Jordan Football Association, Myanmar Football Federation and the Football Association of Singapore have submitted their nominations for the Developing category.
Guam Football Association, Mongolian Football Federation and the Palestine Football Association complete the line-up in the Aspiring category.

Kuala Lumpur: It was an experience of a lifetime for 18 boys and girls from Nepal who attended the five-day AFC-FAM-Shelter Ashraya Nepal Youth Football & Leadership Camp 2019 supported by the AFC Dream Asia Foundation.
In a collaboration between the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and Shelter Ashraya Nepal (SAN), the camp, held from July 28 to August 2, provided the children with football training and lessons on leadership, problem solving and emotional resilience.
They had the opportunity to put their training to use in friendly football competitions against other Malaysian teams.
Outside the pitch, the Nepalese children, who were in Malaysia for the first time, also enjoyed sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur as a tour was arranged for them to visit the Petronas Twin Towers and Putrajaya.

Vietnam: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Football Club Social Alliance (FCSA) have successfully completed their second joint project - The Young Coach Education programme - which trained 33 young Vietnamese men and women to become grassroots football coaches and role models in their communities and will benefit more than 2000 children.
Following close co-operation with local partners, the FCSA has conducted three education modules which provided the project participants with the tools to teach children – through football – the social and health-related issues in their communities.

Dhaka: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) continued to touch the lives of Rohingya refugees and street children in Bangladesh through the AFC’s Dream Asia Foundation supported by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), Coaches Across Continents (CAC), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Jaago Foundation.
The five-day programme started on June 17 with a Kids' Football Fun Festival organised for 226 Rohingya refugee children in co-operation with UNHCR. The children had the opportunity to play in a competitive and fun environment in small-sided games.

Sydney: Pararoos Head Coach Kai Lammert has finalised his squad to compete at July’s IFCPF World Cup in Seville, Spain.
Fourteen players will venture to Europe on June 29, with the Pararoos’ first stop being Oberhaching near Munich where the team will play two international friendlies against Germany’s National CP (Cerebral Palsy) football team.
While in Bavaria, Lammert’s squad will set up shop at Sportschule Oberhaching, a modern college of physical education that was built in 1994 and features a range of elite outdoor and indoor facilities.

Ulaanbaatar: Students at School No. 79 today received encouraging news after the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) announced that they will build a new football pitch supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation.
MFF President and AFC Vice President Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar made the announcement at their Grassroots Football Day and thanked AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa for his support.
The idea to build a football pitch was mooted 12 months ago after tragedy struck School No. 79 when an 11-year-old male student tragically died when a goal post fell on him.
